Thailand Pass: All You Need To Know
What is Thailand Pass
Thailand Pass is a document that is required by Thai authorities for both Thai and foreigners traveling to Thailand. It is a web-based system where travelers fill in their travel, and vaccination information. Upon approval, you receive a QR code that will allow you to travel to Thailand (you will still need to meet visa requirements). Thailand Pass will replace the Certificate of Entry or COE starting November 1, 2021. This document or Travel Pass with QR code issued by the Thai Embassy or Consulate must be presented to the airline personnel before departure and to the immigration and health officer upon arrival in Thailand.

How To Apply for Thailand Pass
The Thailand Pass System is a QR code generating system. To obtain a QR entry code or Thailand Pass ID, travelers will have to:
- Register at Thailand Pass web portal
- Input personal details
- Upload the required documents
And if approved, you will receive an email of your QR Entry Code or Thailand Pass ID which you will use upon entering Thailand.
The online application for the Thailand Pass will start on November 1, 2021 9AM Thailand time.

When can I apply for a Thailand Pass?
The Thailand Pass is set to be launched on November 1st at 9 AM Thailand time. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also stated that travelers should apply for the Thailand Pass at least 7 days before their intended travel.

The website will be at https://tp.consular.go.th
How long does Thailand Pass approval take?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs or MFA has stated that it will take 3-5 days for the approval of the Thailand Pass. It is recommended to apply for the Thailand Pass at least 7 days and not more than 30 days before the flight.
Can I still apply or use the COE?
At the moment you cannot apply or register online for a COE since the registration has been closed at 3 PM Thailand time on October 29, 2021. However, those who have applied and received the reference ID can still continue to process the COE as long as your travel date is on October 8 or before. Also, those who have been issued a COE can still use the COE to travel to Thailand. Kindly check the web link provided by the Thai Embassy to download the updated version of your COE.
Do you still need COVID-19 Insurance?
Yes, all incoming foreign travelers are required to have Thailand COVID-19 Insurance coverage. The medical insurance coverage must be at least 50,000 USD and it must expressly state that COVID 19 and related illnesses are covered by the insurance policy.
Are COVID-19 RT-PCR Tests still required?
Yes, COVID-19 RT-PCR tests are still required. It is required for all travelers before traveling to Thailand and upon arrival. For the fully vaccinated travelers under the No Quarantine and Sandbox Programs, you are only required to have an RT-PCR test on the date of arrival. For the unvaccinated travelers, you are required to have RT-PCR tests on the date of arrival and on the Day 6 or 7 of your stay.
