With the Test and Go program, travelers will only need to be tested upon arrival in your SHA+ hotel and you can go if you received a negative result. You will then return to the SHA+ Hotel for the second COVID test.
You are eligible for quarantine-free travel to Thailand, if you are:
- A fully vaccinated traveler,
- Traveling by air, and
No need to stay in a designated hotel for 7, 10, or 14 days. You will stay in SHA+ Hotel on Day 1 or date of arrival and do a COVID-19 test.
Requirements for Test and Go Travelers
Even though you are a fully vaccinated traveler, from an approved country traveler, and are traveling by air traveler, you are still required to show required documents to Thai authorities to be granted entry in Thailand.
Here are the requirements that a Test and Go traveler must have:
Thailand Pass QR Code
You will need to obtain a QR Code that will be received upon approval after applying for a Thailand Pass. Provide all the necessary details and upload documents that are asked and wait for confirmation or approval for you to receive a QR Code which will be scanned upon arrival in Thailand.
Certificate of Vaccination
You will need to obtain a Certificate of Vaccination for proof that you are a fully vaccinated traveler.
Know that the certificate of vaccination will only be accepted if the vaccines you have received are approved by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) or by the World Health Organization (WHO). And it shall be at least 14 days before your scheduled travel date.
For children that are under the age of 18, they will not be required to be vaccinated as long as their parent or guardian is vaccinated and have a certificate of vaccination.
Medical Certificate for COVID-19 Test Result
Starting April 1, 2022, the mandatory pre-departure RT PCR COVID Test will no longer be required for all travelers to Thailand.
COVID-19 Insurance
You will have to purchase COVID-19 insurance that will cover the costs of COVID-19-related incidents in case one gets infected during your stay in Thailand.
The COVID-19 insurance must have a minimum coverage of $10,000. For COVID-19 insurance that you can trust, AXA Sawasdee Thailand is the best option.
Payment Confirmation of AQ, ASQ, or SHA+ Hotels
In the case of Test and Go travelers, you are required to book a hotel for at least 1 night for Day 1 and another 1 night for Day 5.
Packages for Test and Go Travelers
Since Thailand has introduced the Test and Go to travelers, approved Alternative Quarantine (AQ) and SHA+ Hotels have added the Test and Go packages to cater to those travelers.
The Test and Go package should cover:
- Accommodation for at least 1 night for Day 1 and Day 5.
- Transport to transfer from the airport to your designated hotel.

i am fully vaccinated and so is my 15 year old daughter. we travel back to uk on 21 august. do i need to get pre departure pcr test.
Hello David,
Children under the age of 18 do not need a certificate of vaccination if they are travelling with fully vaccinated parents. If they travel with parents who are not fully vaccinated, they must present an RT-PCR / Professional ATK COVID-19 test result issued within 72 hours before departure.
Thank you.
Hello David,
Since you are fully vaccinated your daughter doesn’t have to do the pre-departure RT-PCR test.
Thank you.
Hello, can I book in any hotel in Bangkok through booking.com or agoda, or is there certain hotels that I should not book because they are assigned for quarantine?! If so, what hotels shouldn’t I book?!
Hi Rita,
Test and Go has been scrapped. You can book in any hotel of your choice, you can also check this site for more options, https://www.agoda.com/search?cid=1897011&city=9395&fbclid=IwAR2s29Dzs34Qohyn5SsKB33HhHlEAhOf9OmEo9GgZFX-T2_2e1Cxh-ka7ic.

What are isolation requirements if I test positive for COVID in Thailand during my holiday?
Dear Ali,
You can isolate in your hotel room or any accommodation until you have a negative self-test ATK test result.
Thank you.
Hi,
I just like to check if we are staying more than 5 days, do we have to book a SHA+ hotel again? From other websites, it was stated we just need to download the MorChana App to submit our self-ART Test on day 5. Please advise, thank you!
Hi Vivien,
You need to book a SHA+ hotel just for test and go on day 1. After that, you can stay in any hotel you want.
Hi,
1. If we go under “Test & Go’ scheme that means we must book under the accredited hotels in order to take the Covi 19 test upon arrival?
2. If we only stay 4 days in Thailand then must we also need to take Covi 19 test before departure?
TQ.
Dear Anthony,
1. Yes, you need to book for Day 1 in an SHA+ Hotel. If you will arrive in Bangkok, you can book an all inclusive test and go package on this link: http://www.siam-legal.com/agoda
2. if you will stay for 4 days in Thailand, you do not need to do the Day 5 ATK test.
Thank you.
I arrive on 24 April, if I test positive on arrival , can I quarantine in the hotel that has been booked ?
Dear Sandeep,
Yes, that is possible if the hotel allows COVID positive guests in their property.
Thank you.
I’m booking my trip to Thailand for May 1st, I will be arriving in Bangkok for the 1day quarantine, am I then able to go to Koh samui? Would like to visit the island for a week before my return to the UK
Hi Cassandra,
Sure you can. After a complete 1-night quarantine and a negative RT-PCR result, you can travel around Thailand.
Hello. I was conursed with “Ms” and selected that for my boyfriend . Now I know this is for women. He got it approval, so I need to change it ?
Dear Yamell,
As long as the name is correct, that title name MR or MS will not be a problem. There is no need to reapply.
Thank you.
Hi,
Under the test and go, i only want to stay in phuket for 4 days. That is possible correct?
Dear Shiva,
Yes, that is possible. The only requirement for the Test and Go Phuket program is that you stay in SHA+ hotel for 1 night. After you completed or test negative on your Day 1, you are free to go or travel around Phuket.
Thank you.
Where can i purchase the two required PCR tests? The test and go application requires a receipt.
Dear Break,
Good day.
If you are arriving in Bangkok, you need to book it with your hotel. If you are arriving in Phuket, please go to http://www.thailandpsas.com
Thank you.
Dear Rex, if we are planning to travel to Bangkok for 6 days. Considering that we are required to book a SHA+ hotel on the first day and we plan to book another hotel for our stay from day 2 – 6, are we required to book another separate SHA+ hotel for day 5 for the RT-PCR COVID-19 test?
Thank you!
Dear Kai,
If your Bangkok Hotel is a SHA+ Hotel, you can book the whole 1 week and they can arrange 2 COVID tests for you. That is the easiest way to do it.
Thank you.
I received my Thai pass in early December. On arrival I had a negative pcr test. I have to book the second pcr test on day 5/6. Because I booked and received the QR code before December 22 do I need to book a sha + hotel or turn up at a medical centre ? I cannot find any information ?
Dear Shaun,
No, you do not need to. You will be allowed to have the COVID tests in designated test centers to be provided by the government.
Thank you.

thank you
Dear Antonio,
For children under 6 traveling with parents are exempted for the RT-PCR test before departure. However they can have saliva testing upon arrival in Thailand.
Thank you.
if i want to book hotel in pattaya for 4 nights only then 5th day rt pcr is not required as I will be travelling back on 5th day. What is the process in this case?
Yes, if you are staying in Thailand less than 5 nights, you can have a Test and Go for one time only. You must have a flight exiting Thailand that is confirmed.
dear rex
may i know can we just buy single way ticket instead of round trip as i not sure when will return ? will thailand allow us to enter without return ticket?
Dear Kenny,
Yes, it is alright. But when you apply for Thailand Pass, you need to provide at least a date of your planned exit from Thailand. Make sure that you also have an insurance that will cover your stay up to the planned date of exit. Also, you need to provide 2 RT-PCR tests and proof of hotel accommodation during these COVID tests.
Thank you.
Dear Rex
Thank you for the information.
Could you please help to clarify if the Health Certificate needs to be notarised by the notary public as part of the documentation?
Thank you in advance.
Dear Ad,
The health certificate of recovery, COVID vaccination certificate or RT PCR test result are not required to be notarised. You just have to make sure that these documents are in English language.
Thank you.
Hi! If you have already been approved for Phuket Sandbox, but wish to change your plans to do Test & Go do you need to re-apply?
Dear Lesley,
If you want to change your Phuket Sandbox Program into Test and Go Program, you need to apply for a new application and you need to change your Hotel Booking as well.
Thank you.
Dear,
I want to travel as soon as possible to Thailand under “ test and go” program. Preferably on number 2 February. I have tickets and hotel booking and al paperwork ready, but it seems I can not register yet.
When can I register and how long does it take for approval?
Kind regards,
Erik
Dear Erik,
The Test and Go Program will resume on the 1st of February, please take note that the processing time for the Thailand Pass application is 5 to 7 days depending on the Thai Embassy where the application has been submitted. It is recommended to apply for the Thailand Pass at least 7 days before your intended departure.
Thank you.
I don’t see any information about couples coming to Thailand. Do you have to book two sha + hotel rooms for one couple?
Dear Brian,
Yes, there are hotels that you can stay together in one room but the charged is different. To make it sure, you can ask the hotel staff.
Thank you.
My main concern is for example I test positive, and have no symptoms. What happens, do I go to hospital or I hear about a hospital. I have contacted a few hotels on the list and they do not do this. Do I have to go to hospital or do they find me a hotel to quarantine in. I will make sure my insurance covers both.
Dear John,
If you tests positive, regardless of whether you have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 90 days or asymptomatic, you are required to quarantine at your own expense for 10-14 days or possibly longer depending on your situation and under the direction of public health officials. If you are having a severe symptoms you may be quarantine in the Hospital, but if not you can be observed in your Hotel.
Thank you.
HELLO
WE HOPE TO TRAVEL TO THAILAND IN MARCH. TEST AND GO IN BANKOK .. NO PROBLEM ….BUT HOPE TO GO TO UDON THANI TO VISIT IN LAWS AFTER THAT. CANT SEEM TO FIND ANY HOTELS OFFERING T&GO DAY 5 PACKAGES IN UDON.
ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREAT
THANKS
Dear Eoin,
Good day.
You can check the hotels listed here: https://web.thailandsha.com/shaplus?province=41&type=2&page=1
Maybe one of these hotels are eligible for the Test and Go Day 5.
Thank you.
Hi Rex, can i confirm if one plans a 4 day trip, no need to show booking for a Day5 hotel+ test?
Eg, arrive Monday (day1) and leave Thursday (day 4) . Tia.
Dear FH,
Yes, that is correct. You must have an exit flight within 4 days and your next destination must be an international destination.
Thank you.
If I stay from 20th – 24th, do I still need to book Day 5 test?
Dear Joyce,
At the moment, we if refer to the previous Test and Go, you do not need to do the Day 5 test if you will fly our of Thailand on Day 3 or 4.
Thank you.
Hi Rex, thanks for taking the time to lift my confusion.
Are there any Test & Go packages available in Phuket, Krabi or Hat Yak, some websites say Test and Go is limited to Bangkok for now?
Is SHA extra plus hotel the same as a hotel with this “SHA plus+“ symbol?
Thank you Michael
Dear Michael,
In Phuket it is a special case because the COVID tests are done outside the hotel. You can book the RT PCR tests at http://www.thailandpsas.com and separately you can book an SHA Plus+ hotel. Make sure that the hotel will issue a hotel confirmation letter including airport transfer for the Day 1 and Day 5 accommodations.
Thank you.
Hello,
Can I book 2 PCR tests without a hotel in Bangkok?
Best Regards
Dear Pascal,
No, it is not possible. You need to stay in the hotel for overnight stay while waiting for the test result.
Thank you.
Hi,
From the 1.2.22 test and go progrem return but I don’t understand if the second test (in the 5th day) is antigen or PCR?
I Ask cause in the hotel package is show that we get antigen as well.
Thanks
Dear Tal,
Good day.
Both the first and second tests are RT-PCR tests. The first test will be taken on Day 0-1 and the second test will be taken on Day 5.
Thank you.
Hi Rex,
We are a little confused. We are currently staying at Sri Lanka, and thinking about going to Phuket Thailand under the new test and go (starting 1 of february). Is it possible to fly directly to Phuket and do the tests/hotels there? Or is this just limited to Bangkok.
Thanks in advance!
Dear Krys,
Yes, you can enter under Test and Go program in Phuket also. However, there is no big difference between Test and Go and the Phuket Sandbox.
Thank you.
Hi,
Can you please recommend some Test n Go hotels in Chonburi? My family will be landing in Bangkok but we will be travelling to Chonburi. Since a second PCR test is required on Day 5, it does not make sense to return to Bangkok on the fifth day just to do it.
Thank you.
Dear Teo Su Lin,
You can check Best Bella Hotel, Hotel J, Green Park or Tropicana Hotel in Pattaya.
Thank you.
My previous message was deleted so I would appreciate a response to my question. I am travelling with three of my family members and we all submitted our registration for the Test & Go scheme on Dec. 21st. The three other members of my family were accepted and received a QR Code. My registration was denied as the hotel failed to include my name on the reservation which was book and paid for two people. I would like to know what I can do to get my registration reviewed so I can travel to Thailand with my family in April, 2022? Thank you!
Dear Melinda,
You can send an email to [email protected] to amend your application.
Thank you.
Hi, is the Test & Go program available or not?
Dear Vivi,
At the moment, the new application or registration for Test and Go Thailand Pass is suspended until further notice.
Thank you.
Hi there,
Following the updated information mentioned above, that means from 22 of December, if I flying from Australia, would I need to do quarantine 10 days? Or what other options do I have?.
Thanks!
Dear Sergio,
If you did not apply for any Thailand Pass, you can apply for Thailand Pass right now, under 7 nights Quarantine Program or the Phuket Sandbox Program. If you are not vaccinated, it is 10 nights quarantine. Please check this page for the Phuket Sandbox information:
https://www.thaiembassy.com/travel-to-thailand/no-quarantine-phuket-sandbox-plan
Thank you.
Do you do the PCR test at the airport and then go to your ASQ hotel? Or do you do the test at the hotel?
Dear Barry,
Good day.
If your flight lands in Phuket Airport, the COVID test will be done at the airport. If you land in Bangkok, the test will be done at your test and Go hotel or SHA+ Hotel.
Thank you.
Hi, if I enter Thailand in Bangkok and I go for test&go program, can I travel to Pattaya and stay there in SHAplus hotel? Or I need stay one night in Bangkok and then I can go to Pattaya?
Hi Ivo,
You can go to Pattaya to do your Test and Go there.
Thank you.
What if I have a late night arrival time (11:20pm) Will I need to quarantine for 2 days?
Dear Steve,
Good day.
Yes, you have to book for 2 nights since your COVID test will be taken the following morning after arrival and then you will be released 24 hours after the test.
Thank you.
HI!
We have been trying to book our test&go hotels for a while now, but until now agoda has cancelled our hotels bookings and we have been trying for 3rd time this week, but it doesn’t work. Is there any other places we can book an test&go hotel?
Hi Christina,
For all quarantine programs we recommend booking directly with the hotel.
Thank you.
