I want to marry my Thai partner sometime in the future does that mean I need a Thai marriage visa as well?
A Thai marriage visa is only applicable if you wish to live and join your spouse in Thailand for long term. Should you only wish to marry your Thai partner, you may do so even on a tourist visa. Note also that you cannot apply for a marriage visa until you have registered your marriage in Thailand or abroad.

I wish to marry my Thai partner when I return to Thailand and I do not have intent to return to home country in the near future when I do so. What visa will I need and how do I skip the proof of return ticket?
Hello, Ty.
If you’re married to a Thai national, you can apply for a Thailand Marriage Visa, but you will first have to apply for a 90-Day Non-Immigrant Visa before you can change it to a Thailand Marriage Visa. If you have a Thailand Marriage Visa, you can stay in Thailand without needing to prove a return ticket.
How much do I need in the bank to qualify for a marriage visa in Thailand?
Hi Frances,
You need to have a lump sum of 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank account in order to qualify for a marriage visa. You may also show monthly deposit in excess of 400,000 Baht into this account to show as monthly income. If the applicant is a female foreigner, the bank account may be under her name or under the name of her Thai spouse.
