Test and Go Thailand Pass Requirements
1. Eligible Countries/Territories
- Test and Go is available to travelers from all countries and territories.
2. Vaccination
- Travelers 18 years of age and above must be fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by Thailand or WHO at least 14 days before departure.
- Recovered persons with 1 dose of vaccination (received after infection). Must provide a medical certificate as proof of full recovery.
- Travelers below 18 years of age are not required to be fully vaccinated and must travel with a parent or legal guardian.
- Children 12 to 17 years will be allowed to travel unaccompanied by a parent/guardian if they have received at least one dose of vaccine.
3. Insurance with minimum coverage of 50,000 USD for medical expenses including COVID 19.
*Thais and foreigners under Thailand’s national healthcare coverage are exempt from this requirement.
- It is recommended that travelers make sure to check the small print of any COVID-19 insurance policy before purchasing. Ultimately, the policy should cover the cost of treatment and other medical expenses associated with being infected with COVID-19, including in-patient hospitalization, hospital isolation, hotel isolation, or related quarantine.
- The insurance policy should also cover the whole duration that travelers are planning to stay in Thailand. You may add extra days as a precautionary measure in the event that the traveler’s second swab test result in returns as positive.
4. Fully paid SHA+ or AQ Hotel reservation confirmation for Day 1 and Day 5
- On Day 1, reservation includes accommodation, RT-PCR test, and airport transfer
- On Day 5, reservation includes accommodation and RT-PCR test.
- Travelers can book 2 different hotels for the accommodation on Day 1 and Day 5. However, on both Day 1 and Day 5, you must stay within the room for the RT-PCR test result.
*The second RT-PCR test will not be required if the traveler’s length of stay is less than 5 nights or his/her scheduled international departure date out of Thailand is on Day 5 or before. For example, if the traveler plans to stay in Thailand for 3 days, then he/she does not have to undergo the second RT-PCR test, but he/she must leave for another country immediately. However, whether the traveler will be required to take another RT-PCR test depends on the airline and the final international destination.
*For travelers arriving at Phuket Airport, the RT-PCR tests must be booked separately at www.thailandpsas.com
**For travelers arriving at Bangkok Airport and Samui Airport, the RT-PCR tests will be booked directly to your Test and Go Hotel.

Common Problems in Thailand Pass Application
Problem No. 1: User Not Found
After registering for the Thailand Pass, you will receive an email notification with the 6-digit access. You may use the access code to check the status of your application, however, in some instances, you may find that your application was not registered or the user not found. You may check the status of your Thailand Pass application on this page: https://tp.consular.go.th/en/check-status
If the result is “unregistered user” or “user not found”, that is a common problem right now. When you encounter this problem, there is no need to panic. You only need to check the status on a different web browser or you may check on a different computer. As long as you have the access code, your application is being processed. Do not submit a new application, you are only allowed to submit up to two applications at the same time. Submitting multiple applications will cause a delay in the approval of your Thailand Pass.
Problem No. 2: How to Follow Up on the Status of Application
Normally, the process for the Thailand Pass will take 3 to 7 business days. However, if it has been more than the normal processing time, you may call or email the Thailand Pass system. It has been a problem that the phone numbers are not attended to or no one is answering the emails. To follow up the Thailand Pass application is by sending an email to the following addresses:
- [email protected]
- [email protected]
- [email protected] (for Phuket arrivals only)
- [email protected]
Problem No. 3: Unpaid Hotel Booking and COVID Test
Recently there are reports about Thailand Pass applications being rejected due to hotels not confirming the room reservation and COVID tests. It is recommended that you make sure that your airport transfer, hotel accommodation, and RT PCR tests have been paid. After your registration for Thailand Pass, you may call or email the hotel to inform them that you have submitted your application for Thailand Pass. Due to the additional process which requires verification and authentication by hotels, it is advised that travelers book their hotel accommodation directly with the hotel.
Problem No.4: Cannot Submit Multiple Attachments
In applying for the Thailand Pass, you will be required to upload documents. In some cases, the documents such as insurance policy and hotel confirmation will be multiple pages. However, the Thailand Pass does not allow you to send multiple pages of documents. What you can do is always choose to upload the first page of the document or can edit it and collate the multiple pages into 1 page. You may also upload these documents in the last part of the application where you are allowed to submit additional documents.
Problem No. 5: Your Email Provider
Have you already submitted your Thailand Pass application but have not received any email confirmation at all? It is best to use a Gmail account (@gmail.com) to make sure that you will receive an email regarding your Thailand Pass application or registration in a timely manner. Also, always check the spelling of your email address before you continue with your application.

COVID Insurance for Thailand
Based on experience, the common problem for Thailand Pass applications being rejected is that some insurance policies are not properly worded. Your COVID-19 insurance must expressly state that it covers up to 50,000 USD medical expenses including COVID-19 while in Thailand. You may use your own health insurance or purchase insurance from your own country, however, it is recommended to purchase from an insurance company in Thailand such as AXA Insurance Thailand to make sure that you meet the requirement in obtaining the Thailand Pass successfully.
Some common problems with insurance documents submitted during the Thailand Pass process that will cause an application to be denied:
- Wrong coverage date. The policy must be effective before or on the date of arrival and during your entire length of stay.
- Your certificate of insurance must expressly state that it covers up to 50,000 USD medical expenses including COVID-19.
- Your insurance letter or certificate must contain the policy number and date of effectivity or start date.
