Thailand Elite Visa discontinued

In 2023, the Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. (TPC) announced that all previous Thailand Elite Visa packages would be replaced with new Privilege Membership packages. The following packages were discontinued effective October 1, 2023, and are no longer open for enrollment:

  • Elite Easy Access
  • Elite Privilege Access
  • Elite Family Alternative
  • Elite Family Excursion (discontinued June 2023)
  • Elite Superiority Extension
  • Elite Ultimate Privilege
  • Elite Family Premium
  • Elite Maxima Health

The replacement Thailand Privilege Membership program consists of four categories: Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Reserve. The scheme uses a tiered membership system with increasingly longer visas and an increased amount of perks offered at a higher price point.

This prestigious program caters to families, digital nomads, retirees, expats, and high-net-worth individuals seeking to establish Thailand as their next home. It offers a unique combination of long-term residency options, exclusive benefits, and unparalleled service, making it a compelling option for those seeking an extended stay in the Kingdom. Existing members of the Elite program are also eligible to upgrade to a new Privilege membership.

Thailand Privilege Membership Options

Thailand Privilege Gold Membership

The Gold membership costs 900,000 THB, grants a 5-year multi-entry visa, and includes 20 Thailand Privilege Points (see below) to be spent on a range of luxury goods, services, and experiences.

This tier serves as a gateway to the Privilege program for current Elite Easy Access visa holders. Easy Access holders can upgrade to a Privilege Gold Membership for an annual fee of 50,000 THB. The upgraded visa and membership are valid for the period remaining on the Elite Easy Access membership.

Thailand Privilege Platinum Membership

Platinum membership costs 1.5 million THB and grants two 5-year multi-entry visas for a ten-year stay in Thailand. This level includes 35 Privilege Points allocated annually. Family members can be added to this membership for 1 million THB per person.

Members of the Elite Privilege Access, Elite Family Alternative, or Elite Superiority Extension packages can upgrade to a Privilege Platinum Membership for a one-time fee of 100,000 THB and an annual fee of 75,000 THB. The upgraded membership’s validity is based on the remaining validity of the previous Elite membership.

Thailand Privilege Diamond Membership

Diamond membership grants a 15-year stay (through three 5-year multi-entry visas) and costs 2.5 million THB. This tier provides a generous 55 Privilege Points and additional family members can be included for 1.5 million THB each.

Elite Ultimate Privilege visa holders can upgrade to the Diamond membership for a one-time fee of 100,000 THB and an annual fee of 50,000 THB. The upgraded membership is valid for a period based on the remaining validity of the previous Elite membership.

Thailand Privilege Reserve Membership

The Reserve membership is available by invitation only. It costs 5 million THB and offers a coveted 20-year stay in Thailand and 120 Privilege Points. Reserve visa holders can add family members for 2 million THB per person.

If invited, members of any former Thailand Elite program can upgrade to a Reserve membership. Upgrades cost a one-time fee of 100,000 THB and an annual fee of 250,000 THB for Elite Family Alternative members, or 225,000 THB for all other upgrading Elite members.

The validity period of the upgraded membership and visa depends on the type of membership that was previously held. Elite packages of five to ten years convert to a Reserve Visa valid for 15 years plus the remaining validity of the Elite membership. Upgraded 20-year Elite memberships are valid for the remaining validity of the original membership.

The Privilege Points System

The TPC introduced a revamped benefits program with new membership packages called the Thailand Privilege Points system. Privilege Points are allocated annually and can be redeemed for a wide range of experiences, services, and amenities.

These include 5-star accommodations, shopping excursions, travel and immigration assistance, spa treatments, concert tickets, and other indulgent perks. Point costs vary with simpler benefits like airport transfers and movie tickets costing one point, while complimentary domestic flights and other major rewards cost three points.

Points reset annually, encouraging members to use them within a year to fully enjoy the program’s benefits. This innovative system empowers members to personalize their Thai experience based on their interests as opposed to being relegated to the same set of benefits everyone else gets as with the old Thai Elite packages.
