90-Day Report with a Thailand Elite Visa

How to do the Thailand 90-Day Report with a Thailand Elite Visa

If you hold any Thai visa, including a Thailand Elite Visa, you must regularly report the location of your residence to Thai Immigration. This procedure is required of nearly all foreigners in Thailand whether you reside here long-term or not, and typically must be done every 90 days. That’s why this procedure is known among expats as the “Thailand 90-day report.”

Fortunately, as a Thailand Elite Visa holder, you have multiple convenient options for handling this task that are not available to holders of other visas.

What is Thailand 90-Day Report?

Every time you arrive in Thailand, your Thailand 90-day report period begins, and before it is over, you must file your 90-day report at Thai Immigration. However, if you leave the country before the 90-day period ends you don’t have to worry about this, as a new 90-day reporting period will begin upon your next entry.

While the period lasts for 90 days, you have some flexibility with when you actually do the report. Thai Immigration allows you to report up to 15 days before the deadline or up to 7 days after it without penalty. If you miss the deadline, you will have to pay a 2,000 THB fine when you finally get to Immigration for your report.

But if you continue to avoid reporting and paying the fine, authorities will assume you are doing so intentionally, and if they stop and check you for any reason and discover the missed report, then the fine increases to 5,000 THB. Repeated violations might jeopardize your current visa status, and in severe cases, you can be blacklisted from re-entry.

Doing the Thailand 90-Day Report with a Standard Thai Visa

If you do not hold a Thailand Elite Visa, you will have to conduct the 90-day report just like everyone else. This involves:

  1. Going to a Thai Immigration Office and waiting in line to be seen by an Immigration officer.
  2. You will need to bring with you your passport, completed reporting form (available at the office), and a collection of supporting documents.
  3. Once it’s your turn, the Immigration officer will receive your packet of documents, including your passport.
  4. You will then have to wait for your report to be processed, after which you can collect your passport and a report confirmation slip, which you must keep and use for your next 90-day report.

After you have successfully completed an in-person report one time and received the confirmation slip, you can then utilize online or mail-in options for your 90-day reports. However, these methods are known to be quite unreliable, and many expats prefer to report in person to avoid mistakes or delays that could lead to penalties.

Doing the Thailand 90-Day Report with a Thailand Elite Visa

The Thailand Privilege program not only provides you with the Thailand Elite Visa, but also access to a mountain of free perks and convenient services, which include several privileges that make doing your 90-day report simpler and far more convenient.

Drop off your Thailand 90-day report at the Thailand Privilege Office

No matter which tier of Thailand Privilege membership you are a part of, you get access to the Thailand 90-day report drop-off and pick-up service. With this service, you can skip Immigration and instead go to the Thailand Privilege office and leave your reporting materials with them. Their staff will handle the submission for you.

How it works:

  • Assemble your 90-day report application packet, including a completed reporting form, your passport, supporting documents, and your previous confirmation slip if applicable.
  • You can drop off your packet at the Thailand Privilege office on Mondays between 08:30 and 16:30. Their offices are located in Bangkok (Sathorn), Phuket, and Chiang Mai.
  • The Thailand Privilege staff will submit your report on your behalf and collect the confirmation slip for you.
  • On Friday of that same week, you can collect your passport and new confirmation slip at the Thailand Privilege office.

Remember, however, that Thailand Privilege is a government agency, so their offices are closed on national holidays. The Thailand Privilege newsletter is sent each month to all members and contains that month’s drop-off and pick-up schedule if you want to check the dates.

Send Your Report from Home via Thailand Privilege Courier

With the Thailand Privilege 90-day report home pick-up service, you can get your reporting done without even leaving your home.

First, contact the Thailand Elite Member Contact Center hotline to schedule a pickup at your location. A Thailand Privilege courier will then come and collect your reporting packet, which will be submitted on your behalf. After processing, your passport and new confirmation slip will be sent back to you.

While far more convenient than other options, there is a small cost involved for each use of this service. Your cost depends on your tier of Thailand Privilege membership:

Note: If you are a Gold, Platinum, or Diamond member, you can also choose to pay the fee in baht to utilize the 90-day report pick-up service, which is useful if you’ve spent all your Privilege Points or just want to save them for different rewards.

Report in Person and Relax in the Thailand Privilege Immigration Lounge

If it is too close to your deadline or you just want to get the reporting out of the way fast, you can still complete your 90-day reporting in person at the Thai Immigration Office. This remains the fastest option, and as a Thailand Elite Visa holder, you get special privileges here as well.

When you go in person to the Thai Immigration Office at the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex in Bangkok, you can access the exclusive Thailand Privilege Immigration Lounge. Simply show your Thailand Elite Card and you can get in.

This lounge offers a comfortable place to relax while your 90-day reporting is handled, and you don’t have to wait in line or deal directly with an Immigration officer. Dedicated Thailand Privilege staff manage the review and submission of your reporting packet, so you don’t have to lift a finger. You’ll also benefit from priority processing, ensuring a quick and seamless experience.
