No Upgrade Fees for Legacy Thailand Elite
From January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025, Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. (TPC) is offering a special promotion for legacy Thailand Elite Visa holders looking to upgrade to the new Thailand Privilege Visa by waiving the required upgrade fee. This limited-time opportunity opens the doors for old Thailand Elite Visa holders to transition seamlessly to a more flexible and rewarding visa membership, all the while saving on additional costs.
In this article, we will cover how the Thailand Elite differs from the Thailand Privilege and why upgrading may appeal to Thailand Elite Visa holders, as well as who is eligible for the promotion and the step-by-step process needed to upgrade your Thailand Elite Visa.
Thailand Elite vs. Thailand Privilege: What’s the Difference?
On October 1, 2023, TPC officially discontinued the Thailand Elite Program and replaced it with the Thailand Privilege Program. All the previous Thailand Elite packages were redesigned and updated to be more flexible and rewarding.
However, while the Thailand Elite packages are still valid under the terms its holders had initially joined, they can no longer be renewed at the end of their duration. Below is a list of the previously available Thailand Elite packages and the new Thailand Privilege packages:

One of the most significant differences between the Thailand Elite Program and the Thailand Privilege Program is the introduction of the Thailand Privilege Points System. This feature allows Thailand Privilege members to select from a long and diverse list of free perks and benefits that best suit their needs and lifestyle, unlike the fixed perks of the Thailand Elite Program.
Who Is Eligible to Upgrade Their Thailand Elite Card?
If you hold a legacy Thailand Elite Visa and want to take advantage of this limited-time upgrade offer, you must be a holder of one of the following cards:
- Elite Easy Access Card
- Elite Privilege Access Card
- Elite Family Alternative Card
- Elite Family Excursion Card
- Elite Superiority Extension Card
- Elite Ultimate Privilege Card
- Elite Family Premium Card
- Lifetime Card
However, you will only be able to upgrade to one of the four base Thailand Privilege packages (Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Reserve). The waived 100,000 THB upgrade fee promotion is also temporary and runs only from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025.
How to Upgrade Thailand Elite to Thailand Privilege
When applying to upgrade your discontinued Thailand Elite Visa to a new Thailand Privilege Visa, your application must be completed and submitted no less than three months before the expiration date of your Thailand Elite Visa, as the entire upgrade process may take between one to three months to complete.
The steps to upgrading your Thailand Elite Visa are as follows:
- Visit the Thailand Privilege Website: Send an inquiry to their Member Liaison Department.
- Submit Upgrade Application: Complete and sign all the necessary application forms, including the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) form, before forwarding them to Thailand Privilege.
- Background Check: Once the application has been submitted, you will undergo a background check that normally takes between four and six weeks to complete.
- Annual Fee: You will not need to pay the Thailand Privilege Membership fee, as you are not a new member. However, depending on your existing Thailand Elite Card and the membership you are upgrading to, you will have to pay a small annual fee each year until the conclusion of your membership.
- Membership Acceptance And Issuance: After approval, you will receive a welcome letter with your new membership ID. To affix your new Thailand Privilege Visa to your passport, you can use any one of the following methods that best suits your situation:
- If you are abroad, you can arrange to affix your visa at a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate
- If you are arriving in Thailand through any of the following airports:
- Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport
- Chiang Mai Airport
- Phuket Airport
- If you are already in Thailand, you can arrange to affix your visa at the Thai Immigration Office at Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok
Thailand Privilege Referral Program
If you’re a legacy Thailand Elite Visa holder, this promotion offers an exciting opportunity to upgrade to the new Thailand Privilege Program.
Unfortunately, Siam Legal International is unable to provide assistance with these upgrades during the promotion, as the upgrading process can only be done directly through the Thailand Privilege website after sending an inquiry to their Member Liaison Department.
However, we are still a government-authorized General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA) partnered with TPC to provide free assistance with Thailand Privilege Visa applications for individuals who are new to the TPC’s membership programs.
If you are looking to share the benefits of the Thailand Privilege Program with friends or family and make some money for yourself while you’re at it, Siam Legal offers an exclusive Thailand Privilege Referral Program that will allow you to earn commissions for each successful referral. Help the people in your life achieve the most convenient and rewarding lifestyle in Thailand and get paid to do it!
