  1. Dear Mr. Rex
How many days does it take to cancel COE process after registering?
I found after 15 days, it will automatically cancelled. Once I request to Thai Embassy, how many days it takes to cancel COE to apply a new application.

    Best Regards,
    Danny

    1. Dear Danny,
Yes, you are correct that it will be automatically deleted after 15 days. However, you may contact the Thai Embassy handling the COE application to cancel or delete it without having to wait for 15 days.
      Thank you.

  2. Good morning Rex.
I already registered type of student (Parent/Guardian) to get COE.
But to visit short term and trip, I though it would be easier to go (exempt) Medium Term visitor. qu
To cancel prior process on COE, I called Thai embassy. Representative replied that it is required high authority approval or waiting 15 days to cancel automatically.
I asked Embassy staff to cancel ASAP based on high authority approval.
In this case, would it be possible to cancel immediately? Yesterday I applied in this way. But not received any reply from Thai Embassy.

    1. Dear Danny,
For the Thai Embassy and consulates in the US, you may request for it to be deleted. However for other countries, I recommend for you to get in touch with them and explain why the application must be deleted.
      Thank you.

  3. Hi, I have filled all the information out but whenever I check the confirm button, it keeps asking me to attach a copy of my passport even though it has been attached already.
    Thank you,

    1. Dear Kaung,
You must click the arrow button in order to properly attach your passport.
      Thank you.

  4. hello, i am travelling to bangkok next week but will be transitting through singapore for 3 and a half hours, is this o k ?
also i am travelling on a marriage visa as i have done for the past 5 years but i have never been asked for a bank statement, except when i applied for my marriage visa, so do i still need to provide a current statement

    1. Dear Graeme,
Yes, it is ok to transit in Singapore as long as the SIN-BKK flight is an accredited flight to enter Thailand.
For the application of COE, you do not need bank statement. On part 1 of COE application you only need passport, visa with re-entry, copy of wife’s ID, marriage certificate and COVID 19 insurance.
For the part of application, you need ASQ hotel and the flight.
      Thank you.

  5. Dear Rex,
    Good day.
I have uploaded the insurance and passport copy, and completed the application on 15/03 under visa exemption scheme. Will the approval of my registration be received by email or do I need to check the result of application on COE website? As per COE website, I can save the information of flights, ASQ and Bank statement once the we get the pre-approval. How long should I wait for pre-approval of application?

    Thank you.

    1. Dear Karma,
You will receive an email stating the application has been pre-approved. You will get it within 3 days After that, you will go to the website and upload the flight and ASQ bookings. The final approval, you will also receive by email with the link for the COE.
      Thank you.

  6. Dear Rex
I applied for the COE online and the first time it gave me an error page. I tried again and when I submitted the application the screen said it was ‘being considered’. I tried a third time and got the same message. I have not received an email confirmation of my application like my partner did.

    What should I do?

    1. Dear Jennifer,
What you can do is to use the “forgot the 6-digit code, click here” button in order for you to get the 6-digit code since your application has been submitted already.
      Thank you.

  7. Dear Rex,

My boss’ father passed away in Bangkok a week ago and he would very much like to attend his father’s funeral probably to be held in Bangkok on 6 – 9 April 2021. Would you please advise if there is any quarantine exemption that he could travel to Bangkok directly for his father’s funeral instead of going through the 14-day quarantine? Any information regarding this matter would be much appreciated. Many thanks for your prompt assistance.

    Fion

    1. Dear Fion,
      Good day.
Your boss can enter Thailand under visa exemption of 45 days and he just need to apply for the COE. He will still be required to undergo mandatory quarantine of 2 weeks. At the moment, there is no information for reduced quarantine days.
      Thank you.

    1. Dear Regine,
As you enter Thailand, you will be asked to download ThailandPlus mobile app on your phone.
      Thank you.

  8. Hello Rex,

I’m a US citizen. Can you tell me, if I travel to Thailand on a visa exemption, can I later change this to a Special Tourist Visa while in Thailand, or is the STV only obtainable outside of country?

    Thanks,
    David

  9. Dear Rex,
    2 Questions:
-> I will be flying in from China to Bangkok.
    1) I found these 2 online insurance service providers for Covid-19 coverage. As the purchased insurance policy will be mailed via email, are they legit and acceptable by Thailand Embassy for COE application and acceptable when departing from China/arriving in Thailand? Or it is preferable to get one coverage from Local China insurance company?

    https://direct.axa.co.th/TA-Inbound/CoverageOptionPlan?utm_source=Agent_Partner&utm_medium=Direct_SiamLegal&utm_campaign=Sawasdee_SiamLegal

    2) Many hospital in here do not issue “Airworthiness health Certificate (Fir to Fly) / Travel health Certificate”. If yes, the format and wording could be different form the standard template requested by Thai Embassy. What’s my alternative? Local Thai Embassy has yet to provide solution or recommended Hospital to get the fit to travel medical certificate.

    Many thanks Rex…….

  10. Hi Rex,
May I know the COE approved and issued for KUL to BKK, arrival date on 12 Mar, if need to postpone a day travel to 13 Mar, how can we make the revision of date and do we need to resubmit the new COE application?

    1. Dear Beatrice,
If there is any change in the COE that has been issued already, please call or email directly the Thai Embassy because it might take a while before you can resubmit a new application online.
      Thank you.

  11. Im in Los Angeles (USA) AND WILL APPLY FOR Visa Exemption? The Consulate said i DO NOT NEED TO MAIL IN MY PASSPORT…is this correct? How do i start to get pre approved? Could you tell me specifically what i need to fill out and (upload) to the consulate in Los Angeles?

Yes, That is correct. We have sent you an email about the things you have to do and what are required.
      Thank you.

  12. Sawadee khrap

    1. Dear Alexander,
The documents needed for the pre-approval for COE Thailand under Visa Exemption are: copy of passport, bank statement, return flight within 45 days, ASQ hotel or proof of accommodation after quarantine and COVID 19 insurance.
      Thank you.

  13. Hello!
I have a question about the COE. What exactly should I need for further consideration documents?
    Thank you.

  14. When should we expect word on whether Thailand will be allowing tourist to visit in July without the 14 day quarantine? Already have the vaccine and place booked but holding back on airline tickets until we get some word.

    1. Dear Mike,
There has been report that vaccinated tourist may be required 7 days quarantine. However, it is unsure or undecided whether it will start in April, May or October 2021. We have to wait and see in the coming weeks.
      Thank you.

  15. Hi, I am currently in Philippines and I am holding a Taiwanese passport and has has a valid Work Permit (WP4) – expiry in Nov-2021, together with Non-B Visa & Multiple Re-entry Permit.

I have been rejected in my COE application several times due to “Please upload your updated Certificate of Employment”.
What could be missing? Does it mean I still need to ask my company in Thailand to apply for a WP3 Cert. of Employment?

    1. Dear Phil,
We recommend for you to upload a photo of your WP4 (work permit booklet) and a letter from your employer in Thailand.
      Thank you.

  16. Dear Rex,

I am working in China, Guangdong. I hold a valid malaysia passport with China working visa. My company is transferring me to Bangkok for work. What are the steps I must do or start with to apply for the entry visa and COE ? My Thailand company is currently apply for TM3 approval with Thai Government. Once approved and issued, they will send over to me here in China to start the next process. Please advice how should i proceed with the Thai embassy in China? and IF there is an approved travel agent in China who you can recommend.

    1. Dear Huat,
      Good day.
I believe your company in Thailand is getting the WP3. Once they have it and send it to you in China, you can apply for the Non Immigrant B visa and eventually apply for the COE online. For the Non Immigrant B visa application I recommend for you to call the nearest Thai Embassy to guide you on the process. For the COE application (after you receive the visa), you can do it online and you can read the article on this page for the instruction or guide.
      Thank you.

  17. Hi Rex,
I don’t have a question. I just wanted to say THANK you for all the questions you’ve been answering on here. You’re doing God’s work. Thank you.

    1. Dear Bruce,
You’re welcome and thank you for kind words. We endeavour to do good things to glorify God.
      Have a good day.

  18. Hi, I am trying to find information on protocol for tourists intending to visit with COVID-19 Vaccine records.

    1. Dear Aura,
At the moment, there are no protocols or exemption for quarantine for travelers who have been vaccinated. There has been rumours and recommendations but there is no official announcement. As of today, the COE, COVID Insurance and and mandatory quarantine are still required for all travelers.
      Thank you.

    2. Hi . I have a flight on nov 1 malaga -barcelona- finland-bangkok- manila. When arriving to bangkok on nov. 2 as layover passenger i need to get my luggage and check it in afterwards. In bangkok do i need coe? Or transit visa? I will ve waiting only at the airport for 5 to 6 hours.

  19. Hello!
My flight was supposed to be this morning (Philippines to Bangkok) but I was not able to board the plane because the immigration officer took time to check all my requirements.

How can I change my COE? Do I need to apply for a new one?

    Thank you so much!

    1. Dear Jonathan,
May I confirm that the COE has been issued to you already or it is still under consideration? If it has been issued, yes, you need to submit a new application with new ASQ and flight details.
      Thank you.

    2. Hi Jonathan, why the PH immigration offloaded you?
Can you please share? I’m traveling soon to Thailand too. Thank you so much

  20. Hi Rex.

You are awesome with these replies, nobody replies as well as you do. Thank you.

    I had a few questions…

On the COE application at the first stage it asked for a visa but I am going under the British Passport exemption status, but it won’t let you continue without attaching a file, so I just attached another picture of my passport.

I don’t know if it will get rejected, I’ve booked my ASQ, done Insurance, declaration and T8 forms, is there anything else I need to do?

    Thank you.

    1. Sorry Rex,

      One other question,

Does it matter if I have applied for my COE and put United Kingdom as travel destination but I actually fly from Dubai?

And the travel date does it matter because I put it for the 10th but I might fly on the 8th for example.

      Thanks.

    2. Dear Karan,
The COE Thailand is only valid for the flights stated in the COE. So if you intend to fly from Dubai to Thailand, you must apply for COE in Dubai. If you intend to fly from UK to Thailand via Dubai, you must apply for the COE in London.
      Thank you.

    3. Dear Karan,
If you intend to use visa exemption, then you must choose the correct category. You must choose number 11- MEDIUM TERM VISITOR- VISA EXEMPTION. If you choose this, the questionnaire will not ask for copy of visa, rather it will ask for the EVIDENCE for the visa exemption such as bank statement and return flight within 45 days.
      Thank you.

  21. Hello on the COE first page it ask country I’m flying from? I’m American but working overseas in Afghanistan and will be flying to Thailand from UAE, and if I select UAE it gives the embassy in Dubai and then reason for travel theirs not for regular tourists I’m not sure what to do.

    1. Dear Billy,
      Good day.
If you chose to have your COE Thailand issued in Dubai, you have few considerations. Will your flight be departing from Dubai, will you be staying in Dubai for a couple of days prior to the trip and obtain the COVID 19 test in Dubai?
If you will have your test in Afghanistan, it is better to get it in Afghanistan/Pakistan Thai Embassy and it is quite fast in issuing the COE.
      Thank you.

  22. Dear Rex, I have arranged my travel to Thailand. I’ll be arriving on 21st of March in Bangkok. I have downloaded the required ThailandPlus app on my smartphone S7 Samsung Android. But the app stopps every time after starting.
Can you please advise how to get it resolved?
    Kind regards Bernie

    1. Dear Bernie,
If the App is not compatible on your phone, the staff at Bangkok airport will provide you an alternative form to be filled out.
      Thank you.

  23. If I have been vaccinated against COVID-19, and have proof of vaccination (both doses) and at least 14 days have past, do I still need to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival?

    1. Dear Fred,
Yes, you still need to quarantine for 2 weeks after arrival in an accredited ASQ Hotel in Thailand. There has been no official announcement if you will be exempted.
      Thank you.

  24. Hi Rex,
I am entering Thailand by visa exemption, is it possible that I convert to other types of visa for example Tourist visa after entering?

    1. Dear Mary,
Yes, it is possible to change the Visa exemption stamp into a Non immigrant O visa under marriage, retirement or volunteer work.
      Thank you.

  25. Hi Rex.

Incredibly helpful all this – very much appreciated by man of us I’m sure.

I’m hoping to come to Thailand on the 45 day visa waiver – I’m from UK but live in Dubai so I’ll be applying through the Dubai embassy online.

My question is – if I wish to travel on 23 April what is the earliest date I can start the application process? I ask as I keep seeing references to a 15 day window but I’m not sure what this window actually is. I’d like to get everything sorted as early as possible but don’t want to find that I only have 15 days to fly when I don’t want to travel until 23 April.

    Regards,

    Ian

    1. Dear Ian,
You may apply for the COE as soon as you have the ASQ hotel, flight and the insurance arranged. The 15-day period people are talking about is the 15-day window period for the applicant to upload the flight details and ASQ after they have passed the first stage or the pre-approval stage 1.
If you apply now, and you got pre-approved on stage 1, you have 15 days to completed the stage 2.
I have a client travelling in April who got the COE in already.
Please remember to choose the correct category: (11) Medium Term Visit- Visa Exemption
      Thank you.

  26. Hello,
Thank you so much for answering everyone’s questions. A couple of questions of my own.

    1. I am a Canadian here in Istanbul and want to go to BKK. Where do I apply for the COE ? in Istanbul Turkey or in Canada?
    2. I use banking app and statements aren’t clear like on a paper statement. Can I just screenshot my account balance and submit it? \

    Thank you !

    1. Dear Alex,
The COE will be checked when you board your flight. Therefore it must be issued by the Thai Embassy that has jurisdiction of the airport where you are flying from. For example, if you are flying from Istanbul, you must get COE from Thai Embassy in Turkey.
You may request a PDF version of the bank statement.
      Thank you.

  27. Hi Rex,
my husband got pre approved and code number. Unfortunately , we could not upload ticket , insurance coverage and ASQ details , we were trying to access but it says not found info in system. What we should do ?

    1. Dear Panis,
Please check if you have registered the correct spelling or passport number. The other way is to ask the Thai Embassy to check the record.
      Thank you.

  28. Good day!

I’m in the Philippines. I’ve been waiting for my COE for more than two weeks now. I’ll be flying on the 3rd of March. They did not ask for any additional requirements. My question is, why they are not yet releasing my COE? Are they gonna release it 2 or 3 days before the flight?

    1. Dear John,
If it has been more than 1 week or 10 days, you should be calling the Thai Embassy.
      Thank you.

    1. Dear Drew,
The Fit to Fly certificate is valid for 72 hrs before the flight. Therefore it is important to obtain it within 72 hrs before your international flight.
      Thank you.

  29. Hi Rex,
    It’s mandy again.
I am still a bit confused for “further consideration documents”
I know that a passport copy is needed (i will enter under visa exemption), and a medical insurance copy is needed during the pre-approval process.
However it says the flight ticket and ASQ hotel can be booked after the application is pre approved, so for the “further consideration” attachment , should I still need to purchase the ticket and have the hotel reserved in advance and upload the evidence?

    1. Dear Mandy,
In order tog et approved for visa exemption, you MUST demonstrate that:
1.You have enough funds for the trip—Bank statement
      2. You will only stay within 45 days—return flight
I hope this is very clear now.
      Thank you.

  30. Good afternoon,

I’m Italian and applied for the COE with the Thai Embassy in Rome and the first step was approved.

In the meantime i coundn’t confirm the flight in the 15 days window.

I’m now in Dubai and I’m trying to apply either trough the Thay embassy here or in Rome while I will fly from Dubai but the system doesn’t work with both and I have checked and my previous info are not in the system anymore and I have correctly downloaded all the docs?

Can you help me with that?
    Many thanks
    Massimo

    1. Dear Max,
      Good day.
If you are in Dubai right now, you must apply for the COE using Dubai Thai Consulate. You must re-apply for the COE and it does not allow you to do that, you must call the Thai Consulate in Dubai directly.
      Thank you.

  31. Hi there,
when I am filling out the COE under visa exemption , it requires Contact details in Thailand..I do not have one, what address should i put?
also what can I upload for Attachment for further consideration?
    Thank you!!

    1. Dear Mandy,
You can use the address and phone number of your ASQ hotel. For the “Attachment for further consideration” you must upload your latest Bank statement, your return inbound and outbound flight and ASQ booking.
      Thank you.

  32. Good Morning,

I was wondering why we did not get a 6 digit code after we submitted our registration for COE. All I see was “Your request is considered”.

    Please advise.

    Thank you.

    Nathaniel

    1. Dear Nathaniel,
      Good day.
It means you already have an ongoing, approved or rejected application. You must contact the Thai Embassy to delete the previous information so that you are able to re-apply or resubmit the new application.
      Thank you.

    1. Dear David,
      Good day.
The COE Thailand will be issued by the Thai Embassy in Italy or Seychelles. The application is 100% done online. You do not need to be in the UK. You will upload the documents and the COE will be issued through email.
      Thank you.

  35. Have received the COE and then the flight got cancelled so I now arrive on a different flight and 1 day earlier. I can’t seem to be able to edit the travel docs on the COE app as it’s been approved. Do I have to start a new COE application and submit the new flight details?

    1. Dear Ed,
You may contact the Thai Embassy directly and ask them to re-issue the COE Thailand with the new flight details. They may advise you to apply again with the new flight and new date of ASQ.
      Thank you.

Is it possible for me to apply for this Certificate so that I could stay in Bangkok until the situation getting better in Yangon?

    Thanks

  37. Hi Rex
I am hoping you might be able to help me with a couple of questions.
    1. I’m hoping to travel to Thailand in July, so I believe I would only need the 45 day visa, is that correct as I have a British passport?
    2. I understand the need to quarantine on arrival for 15 days, but does that come out of my 45 day travel visa, so meaning I only have 30 days to spend in Thailand, or would I still have 45 days?
    3. I have read that the Thai government maybe relaxing the rules in the future, if the traveller has had 2 COVID vaccinations before travelling, which I would have had by my travel date. If I booked an ASQ and then it is not needed, would I be able to get a refund on the ASQ stay?

    1. Dear Nick,
Thank you for your comment. Please see my answers below:
      1. Yes, that is correct. You will be given 45 days under the (11) MEDIUM TERM VISITOR-VISA EXEMPTION category when you apply for the COE.
      2. The quarantine is 15 days and 30 days for you to spend traveling around Thailand, so the total is 45 days. Then, you are allowed to extend the visa exemption for another 30 days in Thailand.
      3. There has been proposal where the vaccinated travelers may be allowed to enter without the need for quarantine, it might happen on the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2021. I would recommend for you to book an ASQ that asks for 10% downpayment such as Courtyard by Marriott. At least, if the time comes that you do not need an ASQ, you can use that 10% payment to spend in their room, perhaps for couple of nights. Please check their details here: https://www.thaiembassy.com/asq-hotels/courtyard-by-marriott-bangkok
      Have a good day.

    2. Hi Rex

Thank you for your answers, and you are doing a brilliant job. I just have a few more questions for clarification please:
1: If I know my to stay is to be over 45 days and have booked my return flights for later than that, because I want to extend my visa for an extra 30 days, will I be allowed entry into the country?
2: Can I extend my visa after I leave ASQ, or do I have to wait till the end of the 45 days?
3: I am assuming that the extension can be done at any immigration office, and a decision is given then?

    3. Dear Nick,
      1. In order to get the COE or Certificate of Entry to be approved, you need to have an exit flight within 45 days. You can book a “dummy” flight which you can cancel or modify the exit date later on once you are already in Thailand. You need that flight to be able to enter Thailand as well.
      2. The COVID 19 insurance you nee to buy is 60-day insurance which covers the 45 days.
      3. You will extend once you are halfway through the 45 days.
      4. Yes, the extension is done at the provincial immigration office and the issuance of the extension will be on the same day also.
      Thank you.

  38. I get back a e-mail from: “Royal Thai Embassy, Stockholm has rejected your registration/ application. Due to Please attach a photo of a visa page with your COE application”
my question: how can I attach a photo of a visa page? where can I find this?

    1. Dear Arnold,
If you are applying under “Medium Term Visitor-Tourist Visa” then you can attached the visa sticker/stamp issued by the Thai Embassy/Immigration office Bangkok.
If you are applying under “Medium Term-Visitor- Visa Exemption” then you do not need to show the visa page.
Do you think you chose the wrong category?
      Thank you.

  39. Hi, I am just filling in the COE (final approval). I fly Manchester-Doha-Bangkok.
The first section about flights is asking “Last port (Before port of arrival in Thailand)” I read this as asking the last airport i was in before BKK which would be my connection in Doha. My partner thinks its asking for Manchester as this section is not in the Transit flight section of the form. What do you think?
Then in the Transit section does it want every flight number listed? the wording of the questions i find a little confusing as it asks for “originating port” but transit to me means my connecting flight not original. Think im making it more complicated in my head here!

    1. Dear Jane,
You will provide DOHA and BKK in that sequence. And you will put the Doha-Bangkok flight number.
For the transit part, you will put the flight number of Manchester to Doha.
      Thank you.

  40. I have received my COE and all of the paperwork, but because I missed my first flight I was forced to reschedule. I rescheduled my flight and quarantine hotel and contacted the Thai embassy in Chicago who told me that because my new flight was within 72 hours of the original flight I did not need nor would they provide me with an updated COE. I also emailed them before I had this conversation with the embassy but never received a reply to this email. Since the embassy told me my paperwork was in order I proceeded to fly from my departure city of STL USA. Upon arrival in Incheon Airport in Korea the Korean Air agents saw the discrepancy in my COE and did not allow me to take my final flight to Thailand. I have contacted the Thai embassy consulate in Chicago and they said they will issue me an updated COE but I am afraid they want an updated covid test and fit to fly certification, however this is not possible inside the airport and I am not authorized to leave the airport. I have now been stranded inside the airport for 24 hours and the 72 hour window for my covid test and fit to fly certification is about to expire and the consulate in Chicago is closed because of the weekend. My newly rescheduled flight from ICN to BKK is scheduled for Tuesday night and no flights are available Monday. *Has my time in Incheon been a layover and if so would this mean my covid test and fit to fly certification (taken only about 12 hours before my first flight from the USA) are still valid?* It is impossible to get new ones inside the airport and I am very worried that Korean Air will again deny my boarding due to these issues. Any help or clarity you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Stranded in ICN

    1. Dear Jared,
I am sorry for what happened. Unfortunately we are unable to give you advice on this matter since this is now a matter of how you can get an updated COVID test in ICN airport.
      Thank you.

  41. Hi, Regarding the recently announced new Thailand e-Visa application system, may I ask who will be in charge of verifying the applications. Would it be companies such as GateWay Services, VFS Global or the Thailand Embassy themselves? Thank you

    1. Dear Aaron,
The application will be submitted online and the visa approval will be done by the Thai Embassy. The embassy may still ask you through email to provide additional documents if deemed necessary.
      Thank you.

    1. Dear Joe,
I believe you did not click on the “arrow” button to fully upload the files.
      Thank you.

  42. hello,

Do I need to undergo quarantine when arrive in Thailand? Also is the Visa on arrival still applicable or it is suspended.

    Thanks

    Marlon

    1. Dear Marlon,
Yes, ALL PEOPLE arriving in Thailand will be required to have the mandatory quarantine. The visa on arrival for Indians, Chinese and other countries under that category are required to apply for the 60-day TR visa. For those under Visa Exemption such as UK, US etc, they can get 45-day visa exemption stamp at the airport as long as they possess a COE or certificate of entry.
      Thank you.

  43. Hi Rex,

I’m confused on the process for STV.

    1) Does STV require confirmation of booked ASQ, flight, and residence before applying for COE?

It seems like STV requires everything to be booked and confirmed in order to obtain the visa. Once the visa is obtained, then I would apply for the COE?

The process is confusing. I want to make sure everything is approved before I book flights, insurance, hotels, etc. Can you clarify for me?

    Thank you!

    1. Dear Kayla,
The ASQ and long term accommodation will be required when applying for the visa.
When applying for the COE, you only need the flight details, ASQ booking, Insurance and copy of the STV sticker.
      Thank you.

  44. Hi,
I’m from Philippines and residing here in Qatar. I booked flight on Feb. 18, 2021 thru Qatar Airways. is there any problem i will encounter because i just read that only Philippines Airline is the permitted airline to travel in Thailand. and also i booked before i register for COE. how long it will take to receive the result? and what are the reason or cause to be reject?

    1. Dear Mary,
Yes, it is alright. Qatar Airways are permitted to enter Bangkok everyday. Philippine Airlines is the only airline permitted to fly from Manila to Bangkok. The COE application takes 3 to 10 days.
      Thank you.

    1. Dear Manisha,
No, for the COE application, only Flight and ASQ booking are required, together with the copy of visa and insurance.
      Thank you.

  45. Hello!

Can I book online for semi commercial flights from Manila to Bangkok for COE? like traveloka or booking.com

    Thank you!

    1. Dear Jonathan,
Yes, you can book that flight as long as the flights that you booked are Philippine Airlines only, since this is the only airline permitted to travel to Thailand.
      Have a good day.

    2. Hello,

After completing the registration for COE. I hit the confirmation and it says “it is your request is being considered”. I did not receive the 6 digit confirmation number.

I’m not sure if it went through….

      Thank you.

    3. Dear Nathaniel,
      Good day.
It means you already have an ongoing, approved or rejected application. You must contact the Thai Embassy to delete the previous information so that you are able to re-apply or submit the new application.
      Thank you.

  46. Hi,
You might want to update your website so as not to confuse people. For the question

“What are the Requirements for the COE?”

Your answers are incorrect. The only requirements now when filling out the online form are copy of your passport and the health insurance purchased. There is no need to have ASQ Hotel booked or flight booked. Only after you get a COE approval would you go on to book the hotel and flights. Thanks.

    1. Dear Jumus,
You are definitely wrong. The copy of passport, copy of visa and insurance is needed for the REGISTRATION. After the registration, if you got pre-approved, you need Flight details and ASQ Booking for the TRAVEL CONFIRMATION part. Both Registration and Travel confirmation stages are part of the COE application.
      Thank you.

    2. My bad, I wasn’t specific to what I am doing which is visa on arrival. I am only staying for 30 days and therefore on the form I pick Medium Term Visitor – Visa Exemption. Obviously with a visa on arrival there is no way at any point to upload visa information as it’s only provided by immigration after I have landed. This is clearly marked on the COE website. I verified this yesterday when talking to the Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

      https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/

  47. Hi, my COE is approved and i printed my COE out but i don’t receive any T8 form for me to print out. where can i get the T8 from? Coming from Singapore

  48. Hey,
I will be coming to Bangkok soon under the Medium-Term Visitor scheme – visa exemption 45 days. I will be picked-up from the airport by my ASQ hotel representatives but first I would really like to extend my stay for another 30 days. Is it possible to do that at the airport, immediately after arrival?

    1. Dear MS,
      Good day.
The 30 days extension can be done only after you have completed the quarantine. You will do it at Muang Thong Thani Temporary Immigration Office if you stay in Bangkok. You will pay 1900 THB for this extension. This extension cannot be done at the airport.
      Thank you.

  49. Hi. I fill in COE form, click confirm and instead of the application number I get a message: Your request is being considered! and I get no further application number. This has been happening since yesterday. I tried 6 times with different browsers. I’m imagining it could be due to the fact that previously my application was declined due to the visa I got from the consulate missing the signature of their employee. I called Embassy in the Hague, they responded nothing was wrong with the website. I need support with this to be able to take my flight. Where can I call?

    1. Dear Natalia,

      Good day.
It means you already have a registered application or maybe you have an ongoing application. Please go to the “Forgot 6-digit code” to know the reference ID of your application.

      Thank you.

  50. By mistake, I inputted my return flight number instead of my flight number heading to Bangkok in the COE. Would this be an issue? If so, is there anyway I can have it edited? If not, do you suggest I resubmit the COE now?

    1. Dear Jason,
You just hope it gets rejected in order for you to edit it. You cannot edit it while is it under consideration.
One option for you is to call or email the Thai embassy to reject the application so that you can edit the details.
      Thank you.

  51. Hello,

Do you know if the app ThailandPlus is mandatory now?

I the the COE it is mentioned as a remark that travelers must have the app.
However I installed the app, but it doesn’t open on my phone and from reading on the reviews several users have the same problem.
Would this be an issue upon arrival?

    1. Hi Raul, I just saw your question about the ThailandPlus app.
I will be arriving on 21st of March. I tried several times to start the downloaded app on my phone Android on S7 Samsung phone. But the app stopps always after starting.
How have you resolved the problem on your phone? Thanks a lot in advance for your help. Kind regards Bernie

    2. Dear Bernard,
I would not worry about it very much. Just download it on your phone and show it when you arrive at BKK airport. Based on my recent clients who arrived in Bangkok, they were not asked about this app. In case, the app does not work or function in your mobile, the staff may give you another option for tracking your whereabouts in Thailand.
      Thank you.

  52. Hello, I just received my visa and I am trying to obtain the COE. I am going into the site and it is saying “502 Bad Gateway”

    1. Dear Jason,
Yes, the site was down this morning but it now working and back to being live again.
      Thank you.

  53. Is it possible for 16 year old Thai National to get Certificate of Entry and fly unaccompanied from USA to Thailand?

If yes… can he quarantine at home Thai mom?

    1. Dear Jeffrey,
At this time, it is not possible for an unaccompanied minor to travel alone. Due to the pandemic and the quarantine in a hotel, it is not a good idea to let a minor to quarantine alone for 15 days in a hotel room.
      Thank you.

  54. Hi I plan to travel in March from Dubai to Thailand for less than 45 days, I am UK national but currently in middle east on business, seems I can apply for COE etc from Thai Embassy in Dubai… is that correct? (I cannot access a Thai embassy in this country).

    1. Dear Doug,
Yes, that is correct. You can apply for the COE Thailand in Dubai Thai consulate. You can choose the category (11) Medium Term Visitor- Visa Exemption when you make the application. You are required to have COVID Insurance and ASQ Hotel when you do the COE application.
      Thank you.

  55. Hello,

Please enlighten me. I’m a Philippine passport holder. I don’t really understand the Thai Visa Exempt Entry. Do I still need to apply for STV before applying for COE? because COE requires a visa. Please help me with this. Thank you!

    1. Dear Jonathan,
If you would like to avail the visa exemption entry of 45 days, all you need to do is apply for the COE directly. When you visit portal for COE application, you choose MEDIUM TERM VISIT_VISA EXEMPTION.
STV has nothing to with visa exemption.
      Thank you.

  56. Hi Rex,

I appreciate what you’re doing on this site…keep up the good work!

On 1/20/21, I received an email from my consulate-general (Chicago, USA) informing me that “Your registration/application for COE has been confirmed.”

On 1/21/21 another email informed me that “Your registration/application for COE has been approved.” Twenty-two minutes later I received another email stating, “Your travel confirmation has been received.”

I have uploaded all necessary docs (visa & passport photos, ASQ confirmation, flight confirmation, medical insurance, contacts in Thailand, etc.) and I have a six-digit code. When I go to the website ระบบลงทะเบียนคนไทยที่จะเดินทางกลับเข้าประเทศ (mfa.go.th) and enter my passport number, name, and six-digit code to “Check the result,” I get the message, “Waiting for approval. Your application is under consideration.”

I believe I have provided all necessary documents for the COE, and it has been over 6 working days since my last email notice. But I do not have a final approval for the COE.

Is this going to take a few more working days? Should I contact my consulate-general at this time? I would hate to pester the consulate-general because I know they are very busy. I am thinking it will take 15 business days in total, so maybe I must wait 10 more working days?

I’d appreciate any insights you have for me.

    Take care,
    John

    1. Dear John,
The reason for that could be, the consulate will issue the COE 3 to 5 days before your flight. They have done that in one of my clients before. However, using the COE portal, they should issue it within 24 to 48 hrs after you have submitted the travel details or second part of the application.
      Thank you.

  57. Hi, sorry not sure if my post was seen. What happens if the COE runs past the 15 days for Travelling?
    Had flight problems ?

    1. Dear Sinead,
For any flight changes or modifications on your COE, please call the Thai Embassy or Consulate that issued it.
      Thank you.

    2. Hi I have applied for visa but been given tourist visa only .I wanted the special tourist visa so I can stay longer in Thailand. How can I covert this before my flight on 2 march 2021

    3. Dear Franky,
You may call the Thai Embassy and apply for the STV. You may ask them to cancel the TR visa and apply for STV. The process for the STV may take a couple of weeks.
      Thank you.

  58. I applied for the coe and have submitted all documents including ASQ booking and Flight information. I finished submitting all documents more than 10 days ago. When I check my status it still says waiting for approval. I an getting nervous. My flight is February 10th. I started the process nearly one month before my flight and still do not have the COE.

Do you have any advice? Should I call the embassy?

    1. Dear Aedan,
Yes, you should call the embassy or email them if it has been more than 3 or 5 days from the time you uploaded the documents. Are you on the first or second part already? The second part will take longer to get approval so please call the embassy first week of February.
      Thank you.

  59. My flight is Tuesday, Feb 2. I applied for STV visa and it has taken so long but it was finally approved yesterday by the Royal Thai Embassy Washington DC. I received an email saying they were mailing my passport back with the visa.

The email said to apply for the COE as soon as possible and I did but it was rejected saying that I need to reapply and upload a valid visa. I used the email from the embassy saying my visa had been approved. I guess they need a photo of the visa even though they are the office that issued it?

How long will it take to get COE from the embassy in DC once I receive my passport back?

    Thanks!

    1. Dear Justin,
Yes, you must upload a photo of your visa as soon as you get the passport. The process for the COE in Washington DC is normally around 2 to 3 days.
      Thank you.

  60. Sir Pls I have been giving the COE but the airline rescheduled my flight in the next 2days , can I still fly with the issued COE ?

    1. Dear Nkwerre,
You must contact the Thai Embassy and provide you the updated COE with the new flight details.
      Thank you.

  61. Dear Thai Embassy,
I have a new passport but my Thailand Visa is on my old passport.
When I upload the COE pre-approval, what passport should I upload?
    I was thinking to
    – upload the new passport front page with my information and
    – upload the visa from the old passport in the section “additional documents for consideration”
    What do you think?
    thank you

    1. Dear Deimante,
The passport you upload is the new passport. You can upload the old passport and visa in the supporting documents sections.
      Thank you.

  62. Hallo,
I have my CoE for Frankfurt to Bangkok. Now my Airline change flight before from Düsseldorf to Frankfurt from LH77 to LH 3509. My flight from Frankfurt to Bangkok LH 772 is same. I arrive same date and same time. But on CoE still LH 77 and LH 772. Must I apply for new CoE?
    Best regards Christian

    1. Dear Christian,
If that is a domestic flight only that has changed, it is not a problem because COE is not needed when you take the Dusseldorf to Frankfurt flight. You only need COE for the Frankfurt to Bangkok flight. Why did you put the domestic flight in your COE? The embassy would only put the internationals flights (including transit) in the COE.
      Thank you.

  63. I have filled out the forms and uploaded the documents at https://coethailand.mfa.go.th , but its still telling me “Please attach a copy of your passport.” even thought the passport is already attached. I cannot proceed with the application, what to do?

    1. Dear Wilmer,
Yes, you definitely can do that. You must have a return flight MNL-BKK and BKK-MNL within 30 or 45 days. Your insurance must also cover at least 45 days or duration of your visit.
      Thank you.

  64. Hi,
I see a ‘Declaration Form’ listed on the documents needed for traveling.
What form is this an how can I get it please.

I also found a ‘Medical Certificate Form’ online that is not listed above. Do I need that one as well?

    Thank you for assisting.

  65. Hello I applied for the Coe its been 3 weeks now no reply still showing under consideration and my flight was today 20 /1/ 2021 don’t really know what to do .

    1. Dear Adele,
If you have the 6-digit application number, you may check the status of it on the same website you submitted it.
      Thank you.

    2. Hi, I am a Singaporean and now is in Myanmar. What documents are required for me to go Thailand?. Thanks.

    3. Dear Max,
You only need to apply for the COE from Thai embassy Myanmar under Visa Exemption or if you have existing visa already. You will secure a flight from Yangon to Bangkok, book ASQ hotel and purchase COVID 19 Insurance.
      Thank you.

  66. I applied for coe and i got 6 digit code. More then 10 days already still my application under consideration. Normally How long it will take?

    1. Dear Vignesh,
It will depend on the Thai Embassy or Consulate handling it. Some consulates will have a reply or result within 3 days.
      Thank you.

  67. I got approval for COE but didn’t find the link to download to COE, is it I only will get it after upload the documents to confirm the trip? How many days it will take?

    1. Dear Thai,
Is it an approval of the registration or is it the approval of the application? Please known that it is a 2-step process. It means you have to get 2 approvals.
      Thank you.

  68. hello,

i have received my COE but the date of departure from originating point of departure is showing as the 7th when my actual flight is on the 6th.
    will this effect my COE.

    1. Dear Kane,
Yes, your flight dates must be the same in the COE. Please call the Thai Embassy or consulate who issued the COE to make the changes and issue a new COE.
      Thank you.

  69. I am holding HKSAR passport , currently live in United Kingdom. HKSAR passport is visa exemption . So, when I apply on line, after I upload my passport, the web site ask for visa documents for further information. So, what information should I upload. Another question is, is Thailand banned UK traveller despite whatever passport they hold.

    1. Dear Dick,
Did you choose Medium Term Visitor-Visa Exemption in the selection before you filled out the form?
      Thank you.

  70. I applied the wrong type of visa. I received 6 digits confirmation. I submitted the new application right away with a new type of visa but it’s show “my application is considered”
Is The Embassy able to delete my old application? It’s quite urgent.

    1. Dear Nat,
      Good day.
it will be automatically deleted after 15 days. However, it is best for you to call the Thai Embassy or email them to deleted it sooner.
      Thank you.

    2. I already fill out COE form and corrected then save but didn’t has the six numbers code to check the COE ‘ reply ,please suggest me what to do. My trip is scheduled in January 21,2021.

    3. Dear Don,
      Good day.
If you did not have the 6-digit number, you need to register again or try to retrieve by using the “forgot” option.
      Thank you.

    1. Dear Alice,
Good day. Yes, you can apply more than 1 month before your flight, however we recommend doing it 2 to 3 weeks before your flight in case there will changes on the flight details in which case, you need to apply for the new COE.
      Thank you.

  71. I have an employee flying from Tel Aviv with a stop in Dubai, will he need anything to enter Dubai to transit the flight?

    1. Dear Chanatta,
      Good day.
It would be best for him to contact the airline if there special requirements when transiting in Dubai. As far as I know, there is no special requirement for the UAE.
      Thank you.

    2. My Thai partner is having problems with the Coe because she cannot afford to book a asg hotel, I’m told Thai nationals get free quarantine hotels, but how do we go about this on the Coe form ?

    3. Dear Dale,
      Good day.
I would recommend for her to call the Thai Embassy or Consulate in the country or city where she is located for more information about the State Quarantine.
      Thank you.

  72. My visa issue is being delayed by the Thai Consulate in Bali.
I missed the original flight in Jan 9th.
The visa is still not issued yet
    .
Should I apply for a new COE now or after the visa is issued?
My new flight is on Jan 20th.

Thank you for your previous answer to my post.

    1. Dear David,
I think you need to submit a scanned copy of your visa when you apply for the COE, at least that is the common procedure. However if the Embassy in Indonesia has a different method, I would recommend for you to check with them directly.
      Thank you.

  73. Hello ,
I already got visa of NON-B , which category of COE that I should apply ? As I try before and the system asking for work permit or WP3. Thank you

    1. Dear Hilda,
      Good day.
On what basis was your Non Immigrant B visa was issued?
-Work permit holder or granted permission to work?
      -Businessman or Investor?
These are the only options you can get a COE for having a Non B visa.
      Thank you.

    1. Dear Olga,
      Good day.
Yes, you can obtain a COE online. You must choose “Medium Term Visitor-Visa Exemption”.
      Thank you.

  74. Hi,

How could I use the option to quarantine at the listed ALQ hotels in Phuket? It seems that there’s only one option to fly in Phuket from abroad once a week starting from 23rd of Jan-2021 from Moscow, according to the published list of semi-commercial flights…. Or could I fly to Bangkok and take a domestic flight from there? Though most domestic flights depart from DMK and all international flights arrive to BKK… Or are all these ALQ hotels in Phuket waiting only for Russian tourist?

    1. Dear Jane,
      Good day.
Please be advised that you cannot take a domestic flight from Bangkok to Phuket without doing a quarantine in Bangkok. If you wish to do the quarantine in Phuket, your international flight must land in Phuket. Or perhaps your ALQ hotel in Phuket can arrange a private jet to get you from Bangkok down to Phuket after arrival.
      Thank you.

  75. I read somewhere that Thai national need a COE as well. I left it too late to apply for one and I am desperately to get one until I have came upon this post. Must a Thai national present a COE upon arrival? If so and I do not have a COE will they allow me to enter into the kingdom? I have got all the required documents except for the COE which is a pain to get as the online application takes forever.

  76. What can I do my COE has been rejected, may be I fill in something wrong. Then, I go apply again, but the website is not allow me to apply again

    1. Dear Orange,
You can “edit the information” (green colored section) if you got rejected.
      Thank you.

  77. Hi,
My COE application has been rejected within 24 hours with below comment:

    Not approved
Due to : Did not attach insurance with COVID-19 coverage.

I followed the steps carefully, it clearly said, the flight/hotel/insurance confirmation is to be attached AFTER initial approval of CEO. I don’t get it. If I attach my insurance now they might as well reject it saying there is not hotel booking so…. What’s the logic here? Why my embassy doesn’t follow clear steps listed on coethailand.mfa.go.th

    1. Dear Miroslaw,
Make sure you have properly attached the files by clicking the arrow.
      Thank you.

  78. Hey, quick qestion:

CoE, entry based on visa exemption (30days)

is it possible to apply by providing a flight booking where the return flight would be 60days after arrival?

my intention is to avoid applying for 60-days visa to save time, enter on 30d exemption and extend for another 30 days before coming back home but I’ve heard it may cause problems and they could even refuse boarding, what you guys think?

    1. Dear Miroslaw,
      Good day.
You need to have a return flight within 30 to 45 days upon arrival.
Once you have the COE and you have entered Thailand, you may change your return flight.
      Thank you.

  79. kindly confirm me how many days for insurance required? I know for 100,000 USD coverage just confirm this how many days for insurance i buy ?
Also knows that I book the hotel for 15 days ?

    I am travelling from Dubai

    1. The thai embassy in London send me a.link with all new insurance companies in thailand that you can get insured with.

No eu insurance will pay out. They will give you insurance. They may even state covid on it. But if your country advises against travel then the insurance company legally doesn’t have to pay out. The insurance told me that

  80. Hello,
I have successfully applied for a COE as an Elite card holder on one occasion and am currently in Thailand. Howver I need to travel to Poland for work.
I am a UK citizen but would return to Thailand from Poland not the UK. Do I need to apply for the COE with London as my country of residence or with Warsaw as my country of travel?

    1. Dear Matt,
      Good day.
The COE is only valid for the flight date and flight number as stated in your COE. As long as you will follow and take those flights on specific dates, then you can enter Thailand. If your flight departs from Poland to Thailand, you must apply for the COE issued by Thai Embassy Poland.
      Thank you.

  81. Hi i applied for a COE thru the Chicago Thai Embassy only to be told that Washington is my jurisdiction. I reapplied to Washington but its locked to Chicago who rejected me saying i needed a visa first before applying for COE. Washington said the opposite. Apply COE, if approved apply for Tourist Visa ..(US passport holder). Admittedly im very confused and would like to know how to cancel my Chicago process. Start new if possible. Thank you

    1. Dear Todd,
That is really confusing. In the last few weeks, the application process starts with issuance of the visa and then issuance of the COE. This may have changed but it does not make sense.
May I ask which link did you use for the visa or COE?
Did you use CognitoForms for the visa and COEThailand for the COE?
      Thank you.

  82. I cannot get the CoE registration site to accept my US phone number, keeps saying overseas mobile number invalid no matter what I enter. Any help? Also, do I need to put an address and mobile number in the contact details in Thailand portion if I am applying under the visa exemption scheme?

    1. Dear Thomas,
      Good day.
You need to type the number and do not copy-paste it. You need to start with +1 sign. When providing a Thai number, please use 08 or 09 and no need to write +66.
      Thank you.

    2. Dear Shinya,
For the overseas phone number you need to type + and the country code. For the other sections that ask for phone number, you can start it with 0.
      Thank you.

  83. hi rex,

    I’m from malaysia
for fit to fly certificate, how should do?
any format fit to fly travel letter for referance

    1. Dear Faiz,
      Good day.
The important information in the certificate is that you are “healthy” and you are “fit to fly” or “fit for air travel”. This certificate is different from the COVID 19 certificate.
      Thank you.

  84. Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a UK passport holder and applied COE from Mumbai India as I was here on business. After 10 days I’ve still not received pre approval, is this normal? Now I will be travelling to Dubai for business due to not having the green light to fly to Thailand.

Will my COE expire in the system so that I can reapply from Dubai? Or do I just apply again while the previous one is still in the system waiting approval?

    Rgds
    S.

    1. Dear Scott,
      Good day.
I believe it will expire after 15 days. However, you may try to register again using a different Thai Embassy and visa category.
You may also email or call the contact details given to you in the email to delete the information in the system in order for you to start a new application.
      Thank you.

  85. Due to visa issue delays in Thai Consulate in Bali, I may miss my flight (Jan 9th). I have applied for COE (approved) with insurance and ASQ fully arranged.

If I get my visa *after* my original flight (Jan 9th) and need to enter Thailand on a later flight, do I need a *new visa* and a new COE? Or can I keep the visa and only reapply for a new COE?

    1. Dear David,
      Good day.
If you get your visa after the flight, you only need to apply for a new COE. You do not need to get a new visa.
      Thank you.

  86. I have my COE but now my flight time (by1 hour) and Flight number has changed
Can i alter the COE. Or do i have to re-apply
New COE. ASQ need change to.

    1. Dear Philip,
You may call the Thai Embassy that issued it if they can send a new COE.
      Thank you.

  87. Dear sir/madam

I Applied for coe yesterday on 01/01/2021, i am currently in cairo and my flight to Thailand is on 05/01/2021 through transit flight on 04/01/2021 from Dubai. What will happen if the coe is not approved before my flight to Thailand on 05/01/2021? Is there a way to speed up the approval ?

  88. HI REX
I HAVE GOT MY COE APROVED BUT I BOOKED MY IN VISTARA NOW VISTARA AS CANCELLED THEY FLIGHT SO CAN I TRAVEL ON SAME COE

    1. Dear Abdeali,
The COE is only valid on the specific flight number, and flight date. If there has been changes, then you must get a new COE.
      Thank you.

  89. Hi, when I was check the information about the Visa and the COE, I noticed that I have to apply for tourist visa first and then upload the documents to obtain the certificate of entry together with the insurance and the passport, is that correct?
so first I have to proceed apply for visa right?

    1. Dear Armen,
      Good day.
Yes, in most countries, you need to get the visa first and then you apply for the COE.
      Thank you.

  90. Hello,
Since I plan to go to Thailand for less than 45 days (coming from France), can you confirm that I don’t need any Visa in order to get the COE and enter Thailand ?
