The Thailand Privilege Visa Gold membership is the second most affordable option offered through the Thailand Privilege Program, after the Bronze membership.
Accompanying the Gold membership is the Thailand Elite Visa’s 5-year validity period that allows you to leave and return to Thailand as often as you please. This extended visa is far more easy to obtain than other long-term Thai visas. As such, this membership option is ideal for digital nomads, frequent visitors to Thailand, long-term expats, and retirees.
Even though Gold is considered an entry-level membership compared to the Platinum, Diamond, and Reserve memberships, it does not fall short when it comes to its perks and benefits. Gold members still get access to the Thailand Privilege Points System and benefits that enable a myriad of comfortable and convenient lifestyles. However, similar to Bronze, it does not allow applicants to add family members to the program, so it is best suited to applicants without dependents.
Overview of the Thailand Privilege Gold Membership
Here are the basic details for Gold membership:
- Membership Validity: 5 Years
- Membership Fee: 900,000 THB
- Annual Privilege Points: 20
- Transferable: No
The Gold membership provides a Thailand Elite Visa with a validity of 5 years that allows holders to leave and return to Thailand without the need to apply for a re-entry permit each time. Holders will also have access to quicker immigration processing at all international airports in Thailand.
However, it is important to keep in mind that the Thailand Elite Visa is still a tourist visa. This means that holders are prohibited from obtaining a Thai work permit and working for a Thai company. With that being said, there are no restrictions on remote work for foreign employers and clients. There are also no restrictions on profits earned from investments in Thailand.
Like many other Thai visas, Thailand Elite Visa holders must still commit to the 90-day reporting process. Fortunately, this can be simplified by enlisting Thailand Privilege staff to do the 90-day reporting on the holder’s behalf.
What are the Benefits of the Thailand Privilege GOLD Membership?
Despite including the least amount of Thailand Privilege Points (besides Bronze), there is virtually no difference in the perks and benefits Gold members will have access to compared to the higher membership tiers.
The long list of perks, discounts, and free services available through Thailand Privilege is too numerous to mention in its entirety, but below are some of them:
- Premium Lane for immigration fast-tracking at ports of entry
- Elite Personal Assistant (EPA) service upon arrival at the airport
- Concierge services to assist with various administrative tasks, which include immigration-related processes (90-day report, etc), driving license applications, and opening a Thai bank account
- Health checkups, wellness packages, and other medical treatments at Thailand’s leading hospitals
- Wealth advisory and investment consulting services
- Special deals and discounts at leading restaurants, shopping centers, hospitals, spas, airlines, activities, vehicle rentals, and many more
- Free movie tickets, rounds of golf, spa treatments, hotel stays, airport transfers, and many more
- Unlimited use of the Member Contact Center (MCC), an exclusive 24/7 hotline to assist with everything related to Thailand Privilege
Eligibility Requirements for Thailand Privilege Gold Membership
Unlike other long-term visas in Thailand, applying for a Thailand Privilege membership does not require you to meet specific criteria like age, education, income, employment, marriage, or investment. All that is required is to pass a background check conducted by the Thai government.
However, you will need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for a Thailand Elite Visa:
- Hold a foreign passport from any nation except the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea)
- Passport must have at least 1 year of remaining validity at the time of application
- Must not have a record of criminal conviction, bankruptcy, or being declared mentally unfit
- Must not have a record of serious visa overstay in Thailand
- Must not ever have held a Thai volunteer visa
How to Apply for a Thailand Privilege Gold Membership
Your first step when applying for a Thailand Privilege membership and the accompanying Thailand Elite Visa should be to engage the services of a General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA).
These are private organizations that are certified by the Thai government to assist all applicants with the Thailand Privilege Program. They have comprehensive knowledge of the Thailand Privilege Program and its processes, enabling them to provide consultations as well as application preparation services.
Applying through a GSSA makes the whole process swift and streamlined while minimizing the chances of rejection. Best of all, these services are completely free to applicants as the cost is included in your membership fee. Do not apply through unauthorized visa agents, as there is always a risk of fraud. When choosing a Thailand Elite Visa agent, look for the official GSSA seal:
Thailand Privilege Gold Application Process
