Hi Rex,
I am Canadian. I plan to do the 7 day Sandbox in Phuket, and I would like to spend 40 days in Thailand. The 30 day regular visa was raised to 45 a while ago because of the quarantine time. Is this still the case?
Dear Bruce,
Good day.
The visa exemption has been reverted to 30 days. If you are staying for 40 days you have two options. First you can apply for the 60-day from the Thai Embassy and after that you may apply for the COE. Second option, you may use the 30-day visa exemption and apply for the COE under that category. Once you are already in Thailand, you may extend the visa exemption for additional 30 days at the local immigration office. Should you need assistance for the COE application, please visit http://www.siam-legal.com/coe
Thank you.
Hi if I am from Ireland and am fully vaccinated but travel to the UAE for 8 days and Tanzania for 14 days am I still eligible for Phuket sandbox if all countries are now applicable. Does the 21 days still apply.
Dear Jess,
The COE requirement for the Phuket Sandbox will depend on the Thai Embassy in in the country where you will take your flight to Thailand. If your flight is UAE to Phuket, the Thai Consulate in Dubai requires 21 days stay in UAE before they approve the COE. I would recommend that you stay in one country prior to coming to Thailand or check with the local Thai Embassy or Consulate if they will still require this or not.
Thank you.
Hi!
I’m arriving to Bangkok on the 1st of November from Doha, and then I have another flight (change of carrier) connecting to Phuket, where I’ll stay at a SHA+ hotel to do the 7 day quarantine. Is this permitted ?
Dear Ricardo,
Good day.
As of today October 4, 2021 this flight arrangement is not allowed for Phuket Sandbox. You should book Doha to Phuket flight such as Qatar Airways QR840 flight.
Thank you.
Hello, we are planning to visit Phuket in December. We are living in the Netherlands and we found a possible flight with Finnair going from Amsterdam -> Helsinki -> Phuket. Is this flight transfer allowed?

Thank you.
Why isn’t Malaysia on this list, almost 80% of population now vaxed??

From my understanding, after staying at a SHA+ hotel for the first 7 days, I can move to another SHA+ hotel after. Do I ALSO have to stay for 7 days in the 2nd hotel? Or can I stay, let’s say, 2 days in one, 2days in another? Also, After my 14 days in Phuket I’m planning to go to Phang-nga for a few days before leaving Phuket. Is that possible?
Thanks!!

Dear Patrick,

Yes, Singapore was includeded n a CCSA-approved country for 21 days or more, as long as you are travelling from an approved country.
Thank you.
Hi Patrick,
If you have been in Singapore or any other low-risk country for at least 21 consecutive days and are fully vaccinated, you are exempted from quarantine when traveling to Thailand, regardless of nationality. However, you must spend one night at an AQ/SHA+ hotel to await your RT-PCR test after you’ve arrived. If you are not fully vaccinated, you will be required to quarantine for 10 nights.
Thank you.
Good day, I work on a cruise ship and haven’t been out of the ship since 6 July 2021. I will disembark from The Philippines on October 15, 2021. I am fully vaccinated with Dutch Nationality. Can I do the 14 day Phuket Sandbox?

I am planning to travel to Krabi from USA for a 7 day trip in December . Do I have to stay in Phuket for 7 days and then travel to Krabi? Also , any idea when India will be added to the approved list of countries
Dear Varsha,
Good Day!
Yes, 7 days to Phuket and the extension programme is based on approved areas, and it is these areas which you are welcome to visit. These are Ko Phi Phi, Ko Ngai and Railay in Krabi; Khao Lak and Ko Yao in Phang-Nga, and Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao in Surat Thani. Attached for your guidance,

Hi Varsha,
India is now on the list of low-risk countries that are exempted from quarantine when traveling to Thailand from 1 November 2021. If you have spent 21 consecutive days in these countries and are fully vaccinated for Covid-19, you only have to stay at an AQ/SHA+ hotel to await your RT-PCR test results upon arrival to Thailand. All non-vaccinated travelers are required to quarantine for 10 nights. Keep in mind that if your first destination in Thailand is Phuket, you will have to quarantine in Phuket before you are permitted to travel to Krabi.
Thank you.

Thank you.
Please Help – we have a flight to BKK from USA and a separate flight to Phuket for Sandbox. Is this flight schedule going to work, or do I need to book direct flights?
Dear Bryan,
Good Day!
The Phuket Sandbox COE application requires that your flight to Phuket DOES NOT stop in Bangkok. Please book a flight with stopover in UAE, Qatar or Singapore. Do not book a flight with stopover in Bangkok.
Thank you.
Planning to travel to either Phuket of Koh Samui.
Do I need to stay in a SHA EXTRA hotel for 7 days then move to a SHA Plus hotel for the remainder of my stay?
I am confused!
If so, Where can I find a list of the SHA Extra hotels for both Phuket and Koh Samui?
Thank you for your assistance.
Dear Erik,
Good Day!
For Phuket: You can stay for 14 nights in SHA Plus Hotel. You can also divide it to 7 nights SHA+ Hotel and 7 nights in another SHA+ Hotel.
For Samui: You can stay for 7 nights in Samui Extra+ Hotel and you stay in a SHA+ Hotel in Samui also for another 7 nights.
Should you require any assistance in applying for the COE or certificate of entry, please check this page:

To summarize, since India is not a part of the Phuket sandbox right now, even if the 2 of us are fully vaccinated, we have to come to Bangkok, spend 15 days in quarantine at a designated hotel, and then go elsewhere in Thailand. Is my understanding correct?
Also, Any chance of India getting included in the sandbox countries in the near future? We’re planning the honeymoon in December.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Jana,
Good Day!
If your stay is less than 14 nights, you are required to take additional RT-PCR tests on Day 6-7 and/or on Day 12-13, depending on the duration of stay.
If your stay is more than 14 nights, you are required to take 2 more RT-PCR tests on Day 6-7 and Day 12-13.
As long as all 3 test results are negative, after a 14-night period in Phuket, you will be able to freely travel domestically within Thailand. For your travel guidance, please read https://www.siam-legal.com/legal-guide/how-to-enter-thailand-2021-guide.pdf.

Thank You!

Should you require any assistance in applying for the COE or certificate of entry, please check this page:
